HKTVA (Hong Kong Televisioners Association) is organizing a Virtual Reality Gathering Event during Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMMART) on 16 March 2016, at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre
Why are we doing this?
Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality is here and now. In the past few years we had witnessed the up take of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality hardware and the popularity of consumer VR hardware adoption.
This is a new frontier for a lot of content creators. As part of the community of Hong Kong content production, we are very aware of the coming tide of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality content creation challenges. The hardware are new and the software are fresh but above all the creators of contents need to prepare for the coming wave and not be left behind.
Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) may transport users to simulated worlds and overlay digital information onto the physical realm, but the profits to recognize from the growing industry are no illusion. A recent Goldman Sachs research report predicts the VR/AR industry, which introduces users to virtual realities and brings digital information to the physical world, may soon become an $80 billion market.
We want to take this occasion to gather as much people who are developing VR and AR in one spot. Bring your hardware, your software. Show us your workflow. Show off your work. We want to see it. We want to experience VR in Hong Kong.
Join us and start exploring this undiscovered country and boldly go forward.
